 Freshersgram Career Power-Up – July 11, 2025

So, you’ve set up your LinkedIn profile, added your education, written a great bio, and maybe even added a nice profile photo.

But now what?

You want a job. Or maybe an internship.
And you keep hearing people say:

“Just message the HR on LinkedIn.”
“Send a DM to recruiters – it works!”

But how? What do you say?
Will they even reply?
Is it okay to message them?

The answer is YES – if you do it the right way.
And today, we’ll teach you exactly how.

Step 1: Understand Why This Works

Messaging an HR, recruiter, or manager directly can get your profile noticed faster than just applying through portals.

Because:

  • HRs get hundreds of applications every day.
  • But only a few people take the effort to connect professionally.
  • A well-written LinkedIn message shows confidence and interest.

It’s like knocking on the door politely instead of waiting in a long queue.

Step 2: Find the Right Person to Contact

Not every HR will be helpful — and that’s okay.

Start by targeting:

  • HR Managers / Talent Acquisition Professionals
  • People working in the team you want to join
  • Startup founders or hiring managers (for smaller companies)
  • Alumni from your college in good companies

🎯 Pro Tip: Go to the LinkedIn page of a company → Click on "People" → Search with keywords like “HR”, “Recruiter”, “Hiring”, “Internship”, etc.

Step 3: Send a Connection Request First

Before you message, always connect first.
Click “Connect” and add a note.

🔹 Sample Connection Note (Internship):

Hi [Name], I’m a 3rd-year B.Tech student interested in [your field]. I admire your company’s work and would love to connect and learn about internship opportunities.

🔹 Sample Connection Note (Fresher Job):

Hello [Name], I’m a recent graduate looking for opportunities in [field]. I found your profile inspiring and would love to connect with you.

Keep it short and polite — like knocking on the door before entering.

Step 4: Message After They Accept

Once they accept your request (most people do!), you can send a full message.

Here are a few sample formats 👇

📩 Message Template for Internship:

Hi [Name],

I hope you’re doing well. I’m [Your Name], currently pursuing [Your Degree] from [College]. I’m actively looking for internship opportunities in [Field/Role], and I admire the work your company is doing in this space.

I’ve recently completed [a relevant course or project] and I’m eager to apply my skills in a real-world setting. I’d be grateful if you could guide me about any available roles or forward my resume if possible.

Thank you so much for your time and support.

📩 Message Template for Fresher Job:

Hello [Name],

I’m [Your Name], a 2025 graduate with a passion for [Skill/Field]. I came across your profile while researching [Company Name], and I’m very impressed by your journey.

I’m looking for entry-level roles and would love to explore any openings or recommendations from you. I’ve attached my resume below for reference.

Thanks in advance for your support and time!

📩 Message Template for Follow-Up (if they don’t respond):

Hi [Name], just following up on my earlier message. I understand you must be very busy, but I’d really appreciate any suggestions or direction on internship/job opportunities at [Company]. Thank you again!

Bonus Tips to Make It Work:

🔹 Customize every message. Don’t copy-paste the same thing to 20 people.

🔹 Keep it polite and professional. Never demand a job — instead, ask for guidance or help.

🔹 Don’t stress about no replies. Many won’t respond — but even 1 response can change your life.

🔹 Keep your resume ready. Upload it to Google Drive and share the link (make sure permissions are “anyone with the link can view”).

🔄 Success Is About Consistency

Don’t message one person and stop.
Build a habit — message 3–5 new professionals daily.

And in just a few weeks, your network, confidence, and opportunities will grow.

Quick Recap:

Find the right HR/recruiter
Send a connection request first
Send a personalized, polite message
Follow up if needed
Be patient and consistent
